I got tired of scrolling through a mile-long notes app to track oil changes, so I built something better

Hey IH 👋

I'm Derek, a software engineer in Montana building LookOver, a maintenance tracking app for powersports riders (dirt bikes, ATVs, UTVs, snowmobiles).

The problem: I own multiple machines and was tracking oil changes, chain service, and filter replacements in a notes app. It turned into a mile-long scroll that was impossible to manage. Looked for something purpose-built and found nothing that fit.

The solution: I started building LookOver during Montana winters and testing it on summer trails. It handles compound intervals like "every 50 hours OR 6 months, whichever comes first" because that's how powersports maintenance actually works. And it works offline because garages have terrible cell signal.

Where I'm at: ~2,500 installs, around 100 active users, 20 paying customers. Bootstrapped, solo founder, keeping costs under $100/month. Learning a lot about the gap between "people download the app" and "people pay for it."

Happy to share what's working and what isn't. Always open to feedback.
