I’ve been working on NX Auto Clicker, a free desktop app for macOS, Windows, and Linux. It’s an auto clicker at heart, but the real goal is bigger: replace the “old utility from 2005” experience that still dominates this space—dated UIs, weak onboarding, uneven cross‑platform support, and trust issues that make people hesitate before they even download.
Why it exists
People still need repetitive clicks and lightweight desktop automation all the time (testing, productivity, games, boring UI workflows). The tools are everywhere, but the experience often isn’t good. I wanted something clean, local‑first, and honest—something you’d actually want to keep on your machine.
What it does today
You can start with simple fixed‑position clicking, then move up to multi‑point sequences, macro recording, saved tasks, hotkeys, emergency stop, and a small built‑in scripting layer for people who want repeatable workflows without juggling five different utilities.
Stack
Built with Tauri + React + Rust so it stays fast and feels like a real desktop product—not a sketchy wrapper.

What I’d love from this community
If you’ve shipped desktop tools before: what would make you trust an auto clicker enough to recommend it?
If you’ve used legacy auto clickers: what’s the #1 thing they get wrong UX‑wise?
I’m especially curious how far “automation” should go for v1 vs. what should wait until the product earns trust.
Thanks for reading—roasts and feature ideas are both welcome.
