Hi everyone,
While researching Amazon products, I kept running into the same issue.
Every time I wanted to check if a product was profitable, I had to jump between Amazon, spreadsheets and different FBA calculators.
At first it didn’t feel like a big deal, but when you're analyzing 15–30 products a day, those small delays really add up.
So I built a simple Chrome extension for myself that calculates profit, ROI, margin and break-even directly on the product page.
It’s still very basic, but it already saves me a lot of time.
I’m curious how others are handling this.
Do you rely on Excel, tools, or something else when analyzing products?
The tab-switching pain is real. I spent years building dashes for ecom owners and the number one thing that killed their workflow wasn't missing data — it was context switching. People lose like 20-30 minutes a day just re-orienting between tools.
Curious about one thing though: how are you handling variable COGS? Stuff like inbound shipping from supplier, prep/labeling fees, seasonal PPC fluctuations. Every static calculator I've seen breaks down there because sellers just plug in a single cost number that's already stale by next month. That's usually where the "simple calculator" either evolves into something sticky or stays a toy people try once.
That’s a really good point 👌
Right now I’m keeping it intentionally simple — more like a quick decision layer while browsing, not a full system
Still exploring how to handle variable costs better without making it too heavy
