I had 3 enterprise conversations this week. All 3 gave me the same objection. Here's what I finally understood.

Three enterprise conversations in one week. Three times I heard the same thing back.

"We have something for this already."

First time I heard it, I thought I'd targeted the wrong person.

Second time, I started questioning the product.

Third time, I finally heard what they were actually saying.

They didn't have something for it. They had built a workaround around a problem they'd stopped believing was solvable.

That's not a "no." That's a customer who's given up waiting.

The real question isn't "do you need this?" It's "when did you stop trying to fix this?"

All three calls changed once I switched to that framing. Not to a sale — we're still pre-launch at Genie 007 (genie007.com) — but to something more valuable: a real conversation about the actual pain.

18 months of building and I'm still learning what the right question is. Which probably means I'm still in the game.

What's the objection you keep hearing that you've been misreading?

The repeated objection is useful evidence. Did those three workarounds create enough ongoing cost or friction that the teams were actively looking for something better?
