I hate how much I love Bubble as a senior dev

I'm a senior developer in my day job and take a whole lot of pride in the code I produce. However, after a few over-engineered side projects, I reluctantly decided to try Bubble. Long story short, I'm blown away by how quick it is to get an mvp up and especially to add integrations.

I have used Sketch a bit at work and in side projects and feel like Bubble is just a super-powered version of Sketch prototypes. I see that at some point it will make sense to write the app in React/ node. But let's be real, 90% of ideas don't gain traction anyway. And if this one does, I will have UI and UX already designed to build from.

Anyway, I don't recommend many things, and am especially apt to hate site builders, but I definitely recommend Bubble.

I agree 100% - Bubble is so fantastic for getting a MVP up and running. I do have doubts about the scalability, and it would be more of a headache down the road, but ultimately that's a good problem to have.

I just wish Bubble had a better way of dealing with responsiveness. I don't like their current system. It would be fantastic if they had a Webflow style system, e.g. I could click the tablet breakpoint, change my design, then do the same for mobile. It would be a lot more flexible that way!

Can't wait to see how Bubble grows though - super exciting!

Bubble is a complete beast! With it's Figma integration, I was able to import screens easily and started working on the logic side of app. I build ReportMatters. An app to help women report sexual crimes from anything with a browser. Check it out here: https://reportmatters.bubbleapps.io

I think this greatly depends on type of project. You can test some simple app in this way but one can also hack some code over weekend to test it. But it took us about 6 months to get OrgPad into state where we wanted to bring the first testing users, and coding was done very efficiently in Clojure(Script).
