Every sprint review I sat through had the same problem. Someone would say a ticket was done. It wasn't. Or it was done two days ago and nobody updated the board. Either way I had no idea what was actually shipped until I asked someone.
I'm an engineer. I know the code has the answer. The PR is merged. The function is there. But the ticket still says "In Progress" because nobody remembered to drag it over.
I got tired of it. So I built Waterline.
Waterline connects your repo to your issues board. When a PR is merged, it reads the acceptance criteria on the linked ticket and checks what's actually in the code, without standups or manual updates. You see which criteria are satisfied and which aren't, straight from the diff.
It's not perfect. It works best on repos that have clear acceptance criteria written into the tickets. If your tickets say "fix the thing" it can't do much with that. But if your team writes real criteria, it reads them and matches them to the code.
I'm opening early access now. If you're an engineering manager or PM who has sat in a status meeting wondering what's actually done, I'd love to have you try it.
What does your team use right now to track real progress? I'm genuinely curious about what's working.
