I have 100 users signed up but currently strugging to make even one pay. How should I go about it?

I currently have more than 100 users signing up but never actually converting and paying for it. It seems that there is a huge interest for the users and for me to continue developing software

What is your single most valuable feature? What is the feature your customers are using the most?

What is your DAU, WAU etc?

If your 100 users are not signing on and not using the app they won't pay.

If they are, find what they are getting value from and double down on it.

So you currently are offering a "free trial". As far as I can tell this trial goes on indefinitely?

How about making it a free 14 day trial and capturing credit card details at the point when they start trial. If they don't cancel they are automatically subscribed to the paid monthly plan?

Obviously you make this very clear in the messaging. I believe that's what the majority of your SEO competitors are doing.

      It's a 7-day free trial

I was thinking that I shouldn't do that because I am not a startup that has settled down but just started so I need all the traction and virality that I can. I might implement that after my startup is able to kickstart itself. I don't know

you can argue it both ways.

Pushing customers to pay naturally comes at the expense of "virality". I also quite like @gelb 's suggestion. Some manual outreach might work quite well, if you want to avoid the free trial to paid trial move.

The reason why I would still switch the free trail to paid after 7 days is who knows! Maybe people will keep signing up and you will naturally get some paying users who are perfectly happy to pay. Only by testing for a week or so will you find out

          Okay, thanks for the feedback

          I will keep trying

I can see why someone can argue both ways. Implement a free version and let them upgrade or implement a free trial and maybe users who are happy to pay

Hi Justin - getting customers to actually pay is super frustrating and stressful - definitely know how that feels. Do you have any automated messages that get sent after they decide not to upgrade asking them why? Do you regularly talk to your customers? One thing I did for a previous project was to send a welcome link with a calendar entry to have folks pick a time to speak so I could learn a bit about what they are expecting to get out of the platform - that way you capture their expectations at the very beginning of their journey with you (so you can measure their expectations and then what actually happens to make them not convert). Does that make sense?

      Yes, that makes sense

I do talk to the customers asking why they haven't converted? They responded that they wanted more features, better UI/UX, etc., etc...

I don't have any automated messages that get sent after they decide not to upgrade

I will give that a go. Thanks!
