I have a Google Docs Add-on Being Used By About 100,000+ people and growing. How To Monetize it? Any Ideas?
Currently, it's free to use. I could turn it into a "Freemium". Restrict some features and charge users.
But, would like to keep it free, ideally.
Some ideas I have:
- Ask users to "Buy Me A Coffee" (Does this work? Any tips for success?)
- Sign up to affiliate networks and put offers in the UI that my target market might like.
- Sell it off on some marketplace? (With 0 Revenue, might not get a good price)
Do you have any suggestions about what I can do? What would be a good way to move ahead?
Personally, I am done giving away my work. My advice is to go 100% paid. Charge $5/month. Then, even if 98% of your users bail you still have 2,000 users paying you $10,000/month. If you can't keep even 2% of your user base then you didn't have product market fit anyway and it wasn't worth paying for 🤷🏻
What's the add-on? What does it do? And what kind of people use your add-on?
