I have a paid app with over 2300 customers, I need an engineering co-founder who has a passion for youth sports
The title kind of says it all but I have no idea where to start to find a co-founder. I had an engineer who I paid to help with the app, for both Android and iOS, and he was great. We recently started to leverage the Cloud Functions in Firebase, and now notifications, when changes are made to our database, are being sent to our customers in real time. The engagement is better than we expected. Our cost is virtually nothing (firebase) and we have at least 12 more sports we could tackle that are more popular than girls fastpitch softball. The app is dead simple, provides a great value to our customers, and is something we could offer free moving forward and change to a monthly subscription model. Any help in pointing me in the right direction would be amazing.

Im in a similar position. Why do you want a co-founder? Sounds like you have the cash flow and could find a quality freelancer to help out then retain full control. Finding a co-founder is risky in my opinion. What if after a couple months you discover that their vision is nowhere near yours?
I do have the cash flow, have found many quality freelancers, but freelancers also do work for others, as well as, themselves. Sometimes that means my business doesn't always end up being the "main" project. As for bringing on a co-founder, if it doesn't feel like the right fit, ie, their product vision is different than mine, I can rest assured knowing that I have the income and the customers to keep at it as it is now.

I'm curious about your product though, how do you stay on top of the coaching changes? Is just a manual process and staying on top of the industry, or have you automated it somehow?

It's kind of my secret sauce, and I am kind of amazed it's working so well for us. https://softballbound.com/softball-new-head-coaches/ is where we post online, but in truth, these are always notifications in the app that drive a crazy amount of engagement for us.

I own and operate AllTeamz.com too. We cover 12 sports there. Technically, Softball Bound was meant to be the first step into making specific youth athlete apps. Ultimately, I'd like for SB to be a subscription app vs. a paid app. I want to move AllTeamz to an app shortly too.

In truth, I am less looking for a co-founder and more looking for an equity dev/engineer. Since the company is already an LLC and there are two of us, "founder" is not necessarily accurate. We are looking for an equity partnership. We assumed the risks, built the business, and as a result are willing to accept more risks to grow and drive our vision.
