Hey there, my name is Tiago and I am the founder of the WBE Space, a private community for bootstrappers and indie makers.
I started working seriously on it in September 2021 and I have recently reached the $200 MRR milestones. I wanna share a little bit of the journey so far...
The community works great and I am having great reviews from the members, however, it's been a challenge to find new members. Most of my time is spent testing out new marketing channels to bring more users to my landing page.
Twitter
My Twitter account has been growing at a good pace and a lot of the traffic on my website is generated through the users that visit ny Twitter bio and end up clicking on the website.
Indie Hackers
I often write posts on IH and answer comments where I "plug" my community in a relevant way. This generates a lot of traffic too!
Sales
This is something that I have been trying out more recently and so far is working great. I usually reach out to people via Twitter Dms and try to determine if joining the WBE Space can solve their challenges
Word of Mouth
Since my WBE members are happy with the community they tend to tweet a lot about it which both creates great social validation and attracts new potential members... We even created the #wbespace hashtag.
My Podcast
I host a podcast for starting entrepreneurs and I use it as a marketing channel for the space.
It took me 6 months to reach $100 MRR and only 2 to reach the $200. However, it is still far from covering my expenses and all of these methods above require a lot of work from my side to accomplish.
I am looking for more passive solutions and will let you know if I find some!
Cheers
My friend, you gained a new follower, you work really hard for what you do I've seen, keep it up!
Thank you :)
