I have trust issues with my barber, so I built an AI tool to test hairstyles first

Hey, Indie Hackers!

I'm excited to finally share the project I've been working on for the past few weekends.

The problem: Every time I sit in the barber's chair, I get incredibly anxious. I always want to try new hairstyles (like a buzz cut or a perm), but I'm afraid to try them because I don't know if they'll suit my face shape.

Existing mobile apps either have too many ads, require huge downloads, or just don't look realistic.

The solution: So I developed Hairstyle AI Changer – a lightweight browser tool that lets you "try on" different hairstyles.

πŸ›  Tech Stack:

Frontend: Next.js 14 (App Router)

Styling: Tailwind CSS (Dark mode first!)

Deployment: Vercel

Security: Cloudflare

The challenge: The hardest part was getting the AI to retain the original lighting and skin tone of the user's photo so the hair doesn't look like a glued-on wig. I think the current results are pretty good, but I need more feedback.

πŸ™ My request: I'd appreciate your valuable feedback on my MVP version.

Is the generation speed acceptable?

Do you think the generated results are realistic enough?

It's free to try (no credit card required, includes 3 free generations).
