I Just Got My First Paying Customer. His Name is John.

Today, someone I've never met decided my software was worth paying for.

His name is John. And I'm still processing it.

What I'm Building

Computer Agents is an operating system for AI agents. Not another chatbot. Not another wrapper around GPT. An actual OS with a desktop, apps, file system, and isolated environments - where AI agents write code, browse the web, and execute real tasks.

The twist? You can message your agents from Telegram, Discord, or email. Build software while walking your dog. Ship features from your phone.

I've been building this for 10 months, mass mostly solo, mass mostly in silence.

The Journey to $30

I won't pretend the path was glamorous.

I launched, posted in a few places, and then... crickets. Days of watching analytics show 3 visitors, 2 of which were me testing on different devices. I started questioning everything. Is the landing page unclear? Is the product too weird? Does anyone actually need this?

The Moment

I was drinking coffee when the Lemonsqueezy notification came through.

New payment: $30.

I stared at it. Refreshed. Still there.

Someone - John - had found Computer Agents, understood what it was, and decided it was worth his money. Not a friend. Not family. A stranger on the internet who voted with his wallet.

That hit different.

What I Did Next

I emailed him personally. Thanked him. Asked how he found us. Asked for feedback. Told him he could email me anytime.

Because here's the thing: your first customer isn't just revenue. They're validation. They're a person who believed in your vision before anyone else. That deserves more than an automated receipt.

Lessons (So Far)

  1. One customer changes everything. Zero to one is the hardest gap to cross. Once someone pays, you're no longer building in the void.
  2. Talk to your customers. I have exactly one. I'm going to learn everything I can from him.
  3. Keep building. John signed up for what exists today. My job is to make sure he never regrets it.

What's Next

I'm going to keep shipping. Keep improving. Keep talking to users.

If you're still at zero, keep going. The first one is out there. You just haven't met them yet.
