About a year ago, I started to get back into my old hobby of hydroponic growing. I quickly realized I was pretty rusty, and some of my crops didn't make it just because I had a problem keeping track of them.
A little bit of background: I'm an engineer. I'm used to building, even if it's for the sake of just building something for myself. But this time, I took the huge leap (for me) and solicited feedback from Redditors on /r/hydroponics and /r/microgreens. I was really blown away by the response, honestly: I had a decent number of survey responses and a good sense of what was missing from the market, and everyone was so kind.
Fast forward, and I've now launched Sprout Path. I sent out a soft launch email to the original users that sent in feedback and wanted to be notified when I launched, and I had a grand total of...2 sign ups. It's not the exact response I was hoping for, but I am still working on finding additional user acquisition channels and seeing where this can go. To be fair, the initial launch list wasn't huge.
This time, I'm determined to stop thinking quite so much like an engineer and actually put this thing out there for the world. Part of that is this IndieHackers post, since this is out of my normal wheelhouse and I really don't know what I'm doing!
Anyways, if you happen to grow plants (Sprout Path is really focused on harvestable crops right now more than things like cacti, since that's what the majority of my surveyed users said they grow), check it out and let me know what you think.
Otherwise, I'm always happy to answer engineering questions ;)

Very true! Thanks, I think it's an issue with the icon font not loading correctly... Usually it will pop into place correctly after a little bit or a refresh, I have to get it fixed permanently though so thanks for letting me know
