Here's my landing page: Orbital β SaaS Partnerships on Autopilot
I'm going to post further updates later this week, but for now I'd love to hear some landing page feedback from the IH community!
I'm a massive film fan and love to add a bit of fun (along with one or two Easter eggs) to my designs.
My other SaaS Endorsal, for example, has a few references to Jaws.
For Orbital I've moved from the sea into space and referenced one of my all-time favourite films β can you guess which one?
Looking forward to your feedback and thanks so much in advance.
I'm your target customer (have my own SaaS business). While I found the overall concept intriguing, I still don't understand what you mean by "product led partnership". Right till he ends I was assuming this to be well thought out product integrations between to SaaS products, but then the page starts talking about ad units and suchlike. Is this basically a curated ad network ?
Hey Saurabh!
Thanks so much for the feedback β that's a great point. Perhaps I haven't done the best job in explaining the concept with the current copy, interesting that you thought it would involve integrations. I'll take a look and see if I can get to the point a bit faster perhaps.
While it's similar to an ad network in that it involves displaying ad units in your dashboard, it's actually more of an exchange network. Unlike an ad network, you don't have to pay anything to promote your SaaS and you only show ads for other platforms when you're getting new users sign up to yours.
The product-led angle is effectively saying that instead of the traditional way of needing to find partners, set up commissions and to find ways to promote, the app handles all of that for you and relies simply on your product to sell itself, directly to the customer.
I hope that explains it a bit better, let me know if you have any other questions!
Why would I want to show someone else's ad in the middle of my customer acquisition flow?
They're not shown during your customer acquisition flow. By saying "when you're getting new users sign up" I mean in general, not literally during the process of them signing up.
So in simple terms, for every sign up you send to another SaaS, you'll get one in return β hence "customer exchange".
The ads are shown on your dashboard and only to engaged users, not new ones.
I hope that makes sense!
The headline is π₯π₯π₯, @DeanWalton! The page design's just stunning.
In terms of copy, I don't know how much of a burning problem this is for your audience and how much they know about product-led partnerships.
It looks like you're agitating the pain in the "Introducing" section - might make sense to move it closer to the top of the page to remind the audience why all other solutions are just not fun, and then introduce your "What if..." section and explain how you can help.
Beyond that, the body text copy in "The Orbital customer exchange is" section was a bit hard to read (on laptop), bolding key phrases might help make that section more scannable.
Hope this helps and love the design and the idea!
Hey Ekaterina!
Thanks so much for your feedback and kind words! Glad that you like the headline, I was pretty pleased when that came to me π
Great points. Product-led partnerships is actually a new term that I've created, based on the popular product-led growth movement, so I guess it's always going to be a tricky one to communicate something like that in a short, succinct manner.
Do you think perhaps a "read more" with a link to another page, explaining it in more detail would be a good option?
Regarding swapping the copy to move the "What if" below "Introducing" β I'll have a look, that might make sense actually. I'll also take a look at the "The Orbital customer exchange is" section to make it more readable.
Thanks again, much appreciated!
You're very welcome!
On introducing a new concept: my instinct is to keep your readers on the page and not potentially lose them after they click away to the "read more" page.
You could have a breakout section answering the "what's this new term" question for your readers right after introducing it, where you drive home the point about how different (and superior) this approach is.
Something else you could do is run some user sessions to see if your target audience is confused by the term, or is able to figure it out & move down the page (and sign up).
