Hey Indie Hackers 👋
Like many solopreneurs, I’ve always struggled to keep my business and personal finances clear. My income, expenses, and budget were scattered across messy spreadsheets.
So I built something for myself — and today, I’m launching it on Product Hunt:

What it is:
The Solopreneur Success Tracker (by Planvio) is an all-in-one Excel & Google Sheets template to:
Track income & expenses
Separate business vs. personal
See everything on a live dashboard
Why I built it:
I wanted a simple, reliable way to understand my financial picture without learning new software or paying monthly subscriptions.
Who it’s for:
Freelancers, solopreneurs, creators, and tiny teams who want clarity without complexity.
The launch:
I just went live on Product Hunt 🚀.
If you’re curious, I’d love your feedback, thoughts, or even just your perspective on how you personally track finances.
Thanks for reading, and I’m happy to answer questions about building + launching templates!
Awesome tool Planivo, I’m glad you stuck with well known tools and kept it simple. How are things after your launch, any uptake?
Thank you so much! Glad you liked the simplicity — that was intentional. After launch, I’ve been collecting feedback and pushing several updates to improve performance and UX. I’m about to relaunch with some exciting new features, so stay tuned!
Great, what were your feedback collection methods?
I haven’t made sales yet — most of the feedback came from live demos and 1:1 conversations with people (friends and colleagues) I showed the product to. Watching how they used it (and where they got stuck) has been super valuable in shaping the next version before I relaunch.
Okay great, all the best.
Congrats on the launch! 🚀 This is such a smart idea — so many solopreneurs and freelancers struggle with the same problem of juggling spreadsheets, personal vs. business expenses, and not having a clear snapshot of their finances.
I really like that you kept it simple by building on Excel & Google Sheets — no learning curve, no recurring subscription, just plug-and-play clarity. The live dashboard sounds especially useful for spotting trends quickly without digging through raw numbers.
Personally, I’ve bounced between dedicated finance apps and spreadsheets, but I always end up back in Sheets because of flexibility. Having a polished template like yours bridges that gap between DIY and overly complex tools.
Wow, thank you for such thoughtful feedback. You've captured exactly why I built this tool. So many solopreneurs love the flexibility of spreadsheets but end up spending too much time tinkering instead of tracking what matters.
My goal was to offer the best of both worlds - The familiarity of Excel/Google sheets with the structure and insights of a dedicated tool, without the overwhelm (or ongoing subscriptions).
The live dashboard is simple for spotting trends and enhancing smart decision-making.
Out of curiosity, what's the one thing you always wish finance tools did better? That would be super helpful for future refining of the product.
Interesting product! How are you currently gathering customer feedback and reviews? Always curious about how makers handle this early stage.
Thanks for checking it out! I'm yet to have a first user, but I intend to run short surveys to gather input. I'd love to learn from others too - have you found the best ways to gather meaningful reviews at this stage?
Congrats. I love how you have combined business and personal tracking in one place. I am curious how are you collecting feedback from your first user?
Thank you so much! Right now I’m still in the very early stages, so I don’t have a first user yet. My plan is to collect feedback through:
Early adopters here on Indie Hackers and Product Hunt
Direct feedback via Gumroad/Payhip buyers
Quick surveys I’ll share with users after they try the tracker.
How have you personally gathered useful feedback from your early launches?
