Hi there, I'm a software engineer who just released a web project. I almost have zero users, and I wrote an article on reddit and here. I think I need to open ads campaign on Facebook.
What is your success way to get new users?
This is super general advice, but here's what I think from a perspective of having launched multiple sites:
You need to get it in front of your target audience (find where they hang out) and promote consistently everyday.
Usually there are at least 3-4 relevant subreddits you can crosspost the same content to.
Ask people for feedback on your landing page here on IH / opinions. There's always multiple feedback threads going on.
Tweet frequently, but not in a spammy way about your product.
Launch on Product Hunt when you're ready. Don't expect anything big without an existing following, but it will get some eyes.
Help people out on Quora and drop a link to it. You establish credibility and if they're your target audience, they may find it useful.
Hope this helps.
thanks for advice
I have signed up. Here is my feedback.
Thanks for your feedback.
"What is the incentive for those people to join to practice with me?" a great desire to practice languages and improve speaking ability =)
If I am a beginner and I join in a group, other people are beginners too, so we all suck at speaking which won't help each other much. The beginners need some higher level people who are patient and are willing to chat with beginners. What is the incentive for a higher level to help out on a beginner level, except to pick up girls?:-)
