I just shipped my first SaaS - Automated Transcriptions

Hey everyone, I've recently launched my first real SaaS tool. (TranscribeAudio)

It's a little tool for transcribing audio files. You can upload your raw audio files and get a text transcription in a couple of minutes.

The idea came from a need a friend of mine had. She does a bunch of manual transcription for her research at university, and has tried a few online / AI based tools, but none of them seemed to cater for both the automated transcription and a good editor at a decent price point. I decided to build an MVP and eventually it turned into TranscribeAudio.

It also includes a fully-featured editor where you can edit speaker labels and the transcription content while listening to the audio file. The editor has simple keyboard controls to make the editing process a bit easier.

I'm still building out some core features like:

  • email notifications for when transcriptions are complete
  • export to various file formats (PDF, DOCX, TXT)
  • action item / transcript summarisation

I'm shipping updates daily, and I'm really enjoying iterating on this.

Some use cases I'm think of are:

  • meetings / conferences - most meeting tools do offer transcription and summarisation features nowadays, but if you have recordings of meetings that you'd like to transcribe - we've got you.
  • product managers - transcribe all the user interviews you do and summarise them.
  • researchers / students - for the interviews that you do when you're compiling your research.
  • transcribing interviews / podcasts - this will work well with summarisation, you can quickly get a summary of an interview or podcast.

It is a paid product, but isn't a subscription. If you sign up you'll get 90 minutes for free, and then you can buy more as you need.

You can try it out here - https://transcribeaudio.io

I just wanted to share this on IH because I've been a part of this community for a while and haven't really shared what I'm working on before.

Cheers,
Shivan
