I kept stalling on SaaS projects because of marketing… so I built a tool to fix it

The hardest part of my SaaS attempts hasn’t been the code. It’s been the marketing.

Every time I launched something new, I’d get stuck in the same loop: staring at a blank screen, forcing out a few clunky post ideas, then spending far too long trying to polish them. By the time I finally pushed something live, it felt late, rushed, and half-hearted.

As a solo founder, that cycle wore me down. And it showed — most of my projects lost steam not because of the product, but because I couldn’t keep the marketing going.

At some point I noticed the pattern. I was repeating the same types of posts: product releases, new versions, little founder updates. I started using ChatGPT to tidy them up. It worked, but the results often sounded robotic. One early draft honestly read like Sheldon from The Big Bang Theory.

That was when I realised there was a better way.

I built a scrappy prototype that generated posts for Twitter. Two months later I had something half-usable, two more months and it worked properly across platforms, then another three months for approvals and integrations. Those integrations were the hardest part — that and getting the prompts to sound natural rather than machine-written.
