I killed my AI visibility SaaS subscription model and turned it into a $99 plug-and-play product

A few months ago, I was running an AI visibility SaaS with a monthly subscription.

Then reality hit.

Competition exploded.

What used to be a differentiated product suddenly became one of hundreds of similar tools. And when that happens, most of your marketing effort just disappears into noise.

No matter how much you post, promote, or optimize — it barely moves the needle.

The insight

In a crowded market, you don’t win by shouting louder.

You win by:

  • Giving more value upfront
  • Giving more control to customers

What I changed

Instead of fighting in the subscription SaaS battlefield, I rebuilt the product as a:

👉 Plug-and-play AI visibility tool

Now customers can:

  • Set up their own AI visibility system in under 10 minutes
  • Use their own domain
  • Plug in their own AI model API keys
  • Fully control how they run and use the tool

The biggest shift

I removed the subscription.

💰 One-time payment: $99

That’s it.

And it includes:

  • Full product access

  • Source code

  • Freedom to:

    • Use internally
    • Integrate into their existing tools
    • Or even offer AI visibility as a service to their own clients

Early results

Honestly, I didn’t expect much.

But the response surprised me:

  • Already closed a few sales
  • Conversations are much easier (no subscription resistance)
  • People love the ownership angle

Limited-time offer

👉 50% discount for SaaS founders (limited time)

What I’m learning

  • Subscriptions are great… until you become a commodity
  • Ownership is a strong selling point in the AI era
  • “Do it yourself” > “depend on another SaaS”

If you're building in a crowded space, this might be worth thinking about:

Can you turn your SaaS into a product people own instead of rent?
