I launched a project w a random stranger on the Internet (ASK US ANYTHING)

random makers

Yes — I do projects with random strangers on the internet.

My first one was ProductShot.app, where I tweeted out the idea & one guy reached out. We built and launched it on PH. It got #2 Product Of The Day. :)

This is my second one. It's called Voicl. A tool that helps you add voice notes onto your website. So you can engage with your visitors via your voice.

Currently live on ProductHunt → https://www.producthunt.com/posts/voicl

I built Voicl with Svenja Rossig. She was a social media expert and had never worked in software before.

Here are a few of our tips on starting a product with someone on the Internet.

  1. Come up with an idea which you are both very passionate about
  2. Communication is key - especially when working remotely!! So make sure to always openly communicate how you feel, when you’re unavailable etc.!
  3. Last but not least: know each other’s strengths and leverage them accordingly! Help each other grow.

If you guys have any other questions for us - share them down below.

We’re here for the entire day. Happy to answer your questions regarding our experience and our product.

This is so cool! I can only imagine how much communication went into something like that. If you weren't a good communicator before, that's like the ultimate experience. Good on you, that's awesome.

Thank you!! Really appreciate it. Yes - building a product remotely is definitely the epitome of having to communicate. But we also learned so much!

Thank you — a lot of communication, a lot of WhatsApp chat, many hours on Figma and long zoom meetings. I'm glad it's working.
