I travel by plane a lot and I know that searching for the cheapest flights can be tedious, humdrum, and time-consuming. The flight prices change very often due to various factors, therefore it can be really exhausting to search for the best fares.
That's why I started building an automated flight search service. The idea is the user customize search once and after that, our service regularly scans thousands of flight options, finds the best dates, and tracks price changes to find the cheapest offers, sending the best deals to the user's email address.
After 3 months, we finally launched the first iteration of the service called Manyflights - https://manyflights.io.
This is only the beginning, we've got a lot of work ahead, so any advice and feedback from the community will be really useful!
Best,
Uhm, I fear it's way, way too slow for any user today. The struggle now is to be as real time as possibile: google or skyscanner or analogue services find the cheapest flights in less than 10 seconds and they're right there on the screen, where you can easily change dates or locations or whatever.
The flow "website - [waiting] - open email - [waiting] - reading email on the app - going back to website - making another query - [waiting] - going to email ..." might work only for a niche target, say tech-smart enough elder people, or people who are just surmising a travel idea and don't want to give it enough attention for now <- yep, this is the best scenario I can think of.
Why not displaying the result at once, on the same page? Why should I pay you for a slow and delayed service when I can go on skyscanner for free and do everything in no time?
Manyflights looks like a brick-and-mortar travel agency but without the human contact, I wish you the best of luck but I'm not optimistic :)
Hey Niki. cool idea. Who is your target customer?
btw. I just received my first email. fyi, your prices are twice what I can find on Google.
