Okay, here goes I'll try to answer your questions...

1. How are the fonts and icons chosen?

As a professional designer with 20+ years experience, I chose the 10 mostly premium fonts you see on Logobly.com

Icons are chosen based on your 'startups category' so if you choose say 'music & audio' you get icons related to music and audio.

2. A logo HAS to be unique

Sure, I hear you. at the moment, no automated technology can provide unique, original logo designs - that's what a human designer is for : )

3. I feel like asking for $49 right off the bat with just these few options is a bit much.

I used to have the price set at $99. I've dropped it to $49. Even $49 is pretty low for me, after I've paid for development, hosting and marketing... there's very little margin in it which is tough - price is also fairly subjective.

4. That's lifetime. How does your product compare to that?

Not sure what you mean by lifetime? But at this point you own your logo and you can always re-download it from the severs whenever you want.

That's totally cool, I did get more then one angry email yesterday! LOL - I'm just a single founder / indie hacker trying to let people know about my startup : )
