Hey IH! I made an app last month which I launched last week. It's a game targeting a specific audience which I thought would be a good fit given the lockdown situation. This is what happened.
Launch Sites
- Product Hunt: I thought I had a compelling story, nice images, but the post died with a single upvote. Not sure what happened really.
- Hacker News: It definitely wasn't the right audience for the game but got a couple of upvotes.
- Reddit: I targeted my specific niche and people seemed to love it! I got good feedback and the motivation to continue the product.
Results
- $2 baby! π
- 150+ installs π
- 50 uninstalls π₯
What I've learned
I need to make the game more fun. I think the presentation is good but I need to make the app more compelling to use. I want to make it more fun for families and relaxed users but the game isn't quite there yet.
How I'll proceed
- Add a few critical features to make it more enjoyable. I.e. a 'zen' mode for a more creative experience.
- Start an instagram with colorful, fun content related to the game and the concept in general. I've got ideas to share free game content and organise competition too if all goes well.
- Get user feedback. I've been chatting with users via my Reddit post, and I'll add a feature to submit feedback.
Find the game and a more detailed version here if you're interested. Also I'm keen to chat if anyone has feedback of tips for moving forward. Cheers!
Thats 2 dollars more than me, and I was product of the day
