I launched on Product Hunt yesterday. I hit #225. Here is what I’m changing.

Honestly, hitting the bottom of the Product Hunt list was a wake-up call. I realized my "SaaS" was just adding to the noise of monthly subscriptions.

I'm currently in Nairobi, where the internet is... let's say "unpredictable." It forced me to build differently. I’ve pivoted everything into a Local-First model.

The new specs:

  • 18KB total file size.

  • 100% Vanilla JS (no frameworks).

  • Works completely offline via LocalStorage.

I’m calling it the Digital Sovereignty Bundle. I’m moving away from the "SaaS Tax" and offering tools people can actually own.

Has anyone else here successfully pivoted from a subscription model to a one-time purchase "Small Tech" model?I'd love to hear if it improved your conversion rates.

Hitting the bottom of a launch list is usually a sign that users are fatigued by the constant drain of monthly subscriptions for simple tools. Most people dont realize that a local-first approach significantly boosts performance because bypassing the server round-trip makes the app feel instantaneous. Have you considered marketing this specifically to the digital nomad or remote work community where reliable connectivity is a luxury?
