I’m building PuraSIM, a bootstrapped travel eSIM business

Today I’m officially sharing PuraSIM on Indie Hackers.

PuraSIM is a travel eSIM store that helps people get mobile data abroad without paying expensive roaming fees or searching for a physical SIM card after landing.

The idea came from a simple problem: buying an eSIM is still more confusing than it should be. There are dozens of providers, unclear data limits, complicated installation instructions, and plans that are difficult to compare.

I want PuraSIM to make the process much simpler:

1. Choose your destination.

2. Select a data plan.

3. Install the eSIM.

4. Connect when you arrive.

I’m building the project as a solo, bootstrapped founder. The website is built with Shopify, and my current growth strategy is mainly focused on SEO, useful travel content, organic social media, partnerships, and improving the conversion rate of the store.

Right now, I’m working on:

- Improving destination and product pages.

- Creating useful travel guides.

- Expanding the website into multiple languages.

- Building a recognizable visual brand.

- Automating parts of content creation and distribution.

- Getting the first consistent organic sales.

One of the biggest challenges is competing in a market with several established eSIM brands and large advertising budgets. My approach is to stay lean, move quickly, create genuinely useful content, and focus initially on Spanish-speaking travelers.

I’ll use this page to share progress, experiments, traffic, mistakes, and what I learn while trying to grow PuraSIM from zero.

I’d love feedback from other founders:

What would make you trust a new eSIM provider instead of choosing one of the larger established brands?
