I’m changing how I build ZYONE after talking with ecommerce sellers

When I started building ZYONE, my original goal was simple:

Help ecommerce sellers calculate their real profit.

But after sharing the idea and talking with other founders and sellers, I realized something:

The problem is not only knowing the numbers.

The bigger challenge is understanding what could happen next.

A product can look profitable today, but many things can change:

  • Platform fees increase
  • Competitors lower prices
  • Advertising costs rise
  • Inventory stays longer than expected
  • Refund rates become higher

So recently, I’ve been expanding ZYONE beyond a simple calculator.

Some things I’m exploring:

  • Different platform fee templates to help sellers estimate real costs
  • Comparing different pricing strategies and their impact
  • Scenario analysis for situations like price competition or inventory pressure
  • Helping sellers understand which factors have the biggest impact on profitability

A lot of these ideas came from conversations and feedback from people here.

The more I talk with ecommerce sellers, the more I realize:

A good tool should not only tell you the result.

It should help you make better decisions before taking action.

Still early, and I’m continuing to learn.

For ecommerce sellers:

What scenarios do you usually wish you could test before scaling a product?
