I’m drowning in my YouTube subscriptions, so I built Rundown

Hey everyone,

I’ve hit a wall with my YouTube feed. I follow about 50+ channels mostly news, business. I realized I was spending more time "scanning" for info than actually learning. I’d see a 20-minute video, get clickbait-anxiety, and either waste time watching filler or skip it and miss a key insight.

I decided to solve this for myself. I’ve been building Rundown.

What it does: It’s a pipeline that uses WebSub to monitor channel uploads in real-time. The moment a video drops, it triggers a pipeline to analyze the video.

It doesn't just summarize a transcript but also understands the visuals (charts, demos, code snippets) due to usage of a multi-modal LLM and generates:

A 60-second text summary of the actual "meat" of the video.

The Tech Stack:

• Real-time tracking: WebSub notifications.

• The Brain: Gemini 3 Flash (for the multimodal vision).

• The Goal: Moving from passive scrolling to active intelligence.

I need your help. The tech is mostly there, but AI summaries can be hit or miss. I’m looking for a handful of people to help me test this out.

I need honest feedback on:

• The Utility: Does it provide any value in the digests that are sent every day similar to a newsletter but with summaries of your favorite channels

• The Accuracy: Is the AI catching the nuances, or is it hallucinating the "takeaways"?

What would you want out of it?

Being in this stage right now, there a million paths moving forward from here but I want to stay realistic and provide value that people perceive combining with my vision for this.
