I’m tired of watching founders (and myself) build "zombie" projects for months.

Hey Indie Hackers,

I’ve spent the last few years in the "ideas" trenches. Between building my own side projects and helping friends brainstorm theirs, I kept hitting a wall that was as painful as it was predictable: The Market Silence.

We’ve all been there. You have a "brilliant" idea at 2 AM. You spend 3 months building the MVP, setting up the landing page, and polishing the UI. You launch… and it’s crickets. Not because the code is bad, but because you built a solution for a problem that didn't exist or wasn't painful enough for anyone to pay for.

I realized that as founders, we are our own worst enemies. We fall in love with our ideas, and our friends/family are too nice to tell us our "baby is ugly."

The market, however, is not nice. It's brutal.

I built Verdict AI to be the brutally honest co-founder everyone needs but nobody wants to hire. It’s designed to kill the noise before you write a single line of code.

The Story So Far

Verdict AI started as a simple script I used to scrape Reddit and Hacker News to see if people were actually complaining about the problems my friends thought they were solving. I realized that if I could automate the "roasting" process using real-time market data—competitor signals, sentiment analysis, and risk assessment—I could save people hundreds of hours of wasted effort.

It’s not just about saying "Yes" or "No." It’s about finding the "Kill Criteria"—the reasons why a VC or a customer would walk away—so you can pivot before you’re $5k deep in AWS bills.

The Current Verdict

I wanted to build something that provides a directional verdict in 30 seconds. The app is live and currently includes these features:

  • 100 AI Analysis Credits: Enough to validate a whole portfolio of ideas.

  • Deep Competitor Analysis: The AI scans Reddit, Hacker News, and existing competitors to find where others are failing.

  • Market Sentiment Insights: It identifies real pain points by looking at where people are actually complaining online.

  • Risk Matrix & Mitigation Plans: It defines the "Kill" criteria instantly so you know exactly why you might fail.

  • Full PDF Readiness Reports: You get a professional 6 page deal memo analyzing your risks and moats.

  • Founder-Market Fit: It does not just look at the idea but also evaluates if you are the right person to build it.

  • Lifetime Access: One payment for forever access to your validation dashboard.

  • Priority Support & Community Access: Direct lines to help you iterate on your results.

What Is Coming Next

The goal is to move from "validation" to "execution strategy." I am currently working on:

  • GTM Strategy Generation: Automatically building a step-by-step launch plan based on your specific verdict.

  • Landing Page Copy Optimization: Using the market sentiment data to write copy that actually converts for your specific niche.

  • Venture Studio Mode: A high speed interface for people who need to process 50 plus ideas in a single session.

Let’s Connect

I would love to hear from other builders here. What was the project you spent the longest on only to realize there was no market for it?

I once spent months on a project that I thought was a goldmine, only to find out I was the only person with that problem. I think we all have a "zombie" project in our GitHub graveyard.

If you have an idea you are currently building, check out getverdictai.com and see if the AI can find the holes in it before the market does.

Congrats on the launch, looks solid. What channels are you experimenting with to get early users?
