I made a domain name generator. Do you have any input on the design? I feel that it's too cluttered.

This used to be a local Python script that I used to generate domain names for my business ideas. Now I've turned it into a web application (www.domainprinter.com), and I'd love some input on the design and features. I'm particularly struggling with the design. It feels too cluttered, but I don't want to cut out any links or buttons.

This is an incredibly handy tool!

Here are some thoughts, from a non-designer.

Agree that it’s too cluttered. Don’t be apposed to eliminating features - especially if they get in the way of the core functionally.

“Match your keyword against thousands of common suffixes and prefixes.”
This is confusing. Maybe “enter a keyword and we’ll add common suffixes and prefixes”.

Or maybe drop it entirely and consider turning the “Add prefix before search term” check into a “add suffix | prefix” toggle or checkmarks. Then people will just learn what it does. Not the best suggestion.

Synonym link maybe could be a button next to suggest a site or next to the “search” button, which may make most sense if you go with the feature request below.

Is the “I’m feeling lucky” feature necessary?

    Couple of feature requests:

    • Users should be able to click the words suggested by the synonym tool so they don’t have to copy and paste into the input field.
    • Ability to save individual result domains, even if just to browser storage.

Thank you for checking out my site and giving me your thoughts! I really like your suggestions. I definitely need to rework some of the text on the site to make it more understandable. I actually want add more settings to the search, but I think I'm going to hide it in an accordion along with the "I'm feeling lucky" button to reduce the clutter.

I'm going to add your feature requests to my todo-list :)

Again, thank you! It's much appreciated.

Absolutely! I’m a heavy user of domain generation tools so don’t be shy about sending updates/questions/etc my way.
