I made a fitness "streaming" site with Shopify & vimeo

Hey everybody! New to the community.

I want to share a a recent project I made working for a client. I work mostly with Shopify, and I am not a developer myself, but know how to get around.

So for this project, Magaly (my client) wanted a subscription based platform where you can access fitness videos live and on demand, plus an online store for her merch.

I know this can be donde with platforms like Vimeo OTT, but being based in Mexico, this platform was not available. Looking at other platforms, the monthly cost of maintaining the site increased, and was not a viable option.

What we did:

1. Used Shopify as the main site
2. Use Vimeo and embedded the videos as blog posts (which we changed the design)
3. Used Recharge App to have a subscription model.
4. Installed a password app to block certain pages (like videos, en livestream) and made it only available to customer who had an active subscription. (Recharge app tags them automatically and changes the tag if they cancel, or have a pending payment).

The total cost of running the site monthly is around $100 dlls, including all the apps.

I made this project in around two weeks, mostly testing other sites and apps and making the integrations (which are pretty simple).

It was a really fast way to have an on demand platform, with almost no code required. I think this can be replicated in other type of classes as well.

I'd love to know if any of you know other types of platforms or ways to do this.

And also, if you are planning on testing, the cost is pretty low if you are on trial .
