I made a list of the best online coding courses (free and paid)

Hey, so almost all of the developers I interview for No CS Degree have done online courses to learn to code, be it from people like Wes Bos or some of the cheaper options on Udemy. There are obviously lots of free options as well as learning from Youtubers.

I've put together a list of courses used by my interviewees. Hopefully you can find it useful if you want to learn to code in 2020 or even just brush up on your skills and learn things like React.

It looks like this leans heavily towards new web developers and I'd say that by far the best course creator in that sector is Jeffrey Way of Laracasts. I don't even use Laravel and it's still worth it for me to subscribe.

For more general dev courses, I highly recommend Nand2Tetris and anything from OCW. There's a surprising amount of good stuff on YouTube, as well.

Ditto. As a Rails developer, I got a lifetime membership because I love the way he views the world.

Good call! One of my interviewees uses Laracasts so I've added it now :)

Yeah, I decided to make it a list of only courses my interviewees have done.

Wanna interview me? I was a language major and then worked at a tech startup in Beijing for a while and then in SF (both a unicorn and smaller YC startup) before going indie.

    Hey Pete.

Brad Traversy from Traversy media is an excellent teacher.

    He teaches anything...

Sure, I'm just not sure he has taught anyone I've interviewed...

O am not sure either. I would say not.

Great timing Pete :D I myself have just started on FreeCodeCamp and The Odin Project! Just subscribed too.

Thanks for putting together the resources!

No worries! Glad you liked it.

This is really cool! I work with some fantastic devs who aren’t formally educated in CS so I’m so glad to see this 😊

Great! Who do you work for?
