I made a social network for developers to showcase their projects.

Hello, Indie Hackers community.

I'm an engineering student from India who just built his first product: Driwwwle, an open-source social platform for developers to showcase their creative projects/products. Here's the source, in case you're interested.

Designers are blessed with platforms such as Dribbble and Behance where they can share their designs and use them as a portfolio of their work. However, I could find a similar platform for developers solely.

Sure, you could write a blog on platforms like dev.to or post it on other platforms like Reddit but my aim is to build a platform like Dribbble, but for developers. Everything right from a user profile page, likes, comments, chat, notifications, and other aspects of a social network are present on Driwwwle.

It's been just over a week since I officially announced Driwwwle on my LinkedIn and wrote a blog on dev.to related to the same. I have gained over 150 verified user accounts, which is quite a big deal for me.

However, my main concern is that even though users have signed up, I'm not seeing a lot of posts and I'm not sure why. Is the process of adding a new post too complex or is it something else that I'm missing? What else would you like to see on a platform such as this one?

Any feedback, recommendations, suggestions, or even roasts would help me improve Driwwwle and develop it into a thriving developer community that I wanted to always be a part of.

Before I sign off, I wanted to give a special thanks to @prakis for helping me throughout this journey, right from development to deployment. The support and mentorship I got from him have helped me launch my first product and write this post.

I joined because I love the idea, but it puts me back the fact that is almost the same name as Dribbble and the same color palette. ( Watch out with that, and copyright stuff )

    good luck!

    I will be posting tonigjt.

You're absolutely right, I need to think more about the copyright implications. My idea was to take advantage of the relatability factor, but this is surely something to consider and reflect upon. Thank you for signing up, looking forward to your posts.

I think this platform could be really good. Maybe focus on your category pages. That was my biggest drawback when viewing your site. Couldn't navigate easily or have any idea what the SaaS was about before clicking on the image. I'd rather sort out what I am looking for before hovering over the images to try and figure it out.

Better navigation with category pages, would help developers know exactly where they want to post their product, which in return should help your conversions from that aspect.

Great idea! I will surely add a dedicated category page in the near future. Thank you for the insights, makes a lot of sense, and I can already imagine the ease in navigation that it would bring.

    great work!!

one thing you can do is leverage users by connecting with their GitHub account. Not sure how much projects have a public repo, but it could be interesting to use that info about the project inside the social network.

    good luck!
