As an ex founder, this one was hard to crack as I usually used Notion, or emails and it was just really hard. But tools like this already exists but were ridiculously expensive and could get to as high as $700-1K/year on their very limited base plans which might make sense for established companies but not the vast majority.
As indie hackers, we spend our time also updating community about Xyz MRR and others. This helps us create a form of newsletter/monthly updates that goes out directly to everyone supporting us.
To that end, I recently launched Malak ( https://malak.vc ) to manage the entire lifecycle of your relationship with investors. Features include:
Here is a quick video run-through of the product https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BdFBOPWKRO4
To tackle the price pinpoint, this is also a completely open source product i.e you can choose to not pay for cloud version and just grab the source code from Github and install on your own machine ( https://github.com/ayinke-llc/malak )
I have also included a 14 day free trial but feel free to use LAUNCH50 for 50% off the next 2 months
Malak looks clean — the post-raise investor-update lifecycle is genuinely underserved by anything under $700/mo. Most founders end up gluing together Notion + Mailchimp + Mercury exports and the whole thing falls apart by month 4.
Curious if you've thought about extending backward into the find-and-research stage? The same "I need to talk to these humans about my company" job spans pre-raise (cold outreach + warm intros) → during raise (term sheets + multi-party comms) → post-raise (updates + reporting). Different products tackle different chunks but the underlying entity (the investor record + history with you) is the same. We do the pre-raise side (MentionFox INVEST). Always interested when someone goes deeper on a stage adjacent to ours.
Good ship.
