I've been running content/affiliate websites for years. Currently managing a portfolio of 45 sites.
Here's something I've learned the hard way: pages die silently.
A page that brought 500 clicks/month drops to 200 over 3 months. No alert. No notification. You only notice when revenue is already down and by then you've lost months of potential recovery.
How I currently handle it: I don't. That's the problem. With 45 sites, there's no realistic way to monitor every page manually. I only find out a page is dying when I happen to check Search Console, usually months too late, when the revenue is already gone.
The problem with existing tools:
Ahrefs/SEMrush: great for keyword research, but they don't tell you "fix THESE 5 pages first"
SEOTesting: has a decay report, but no seasonality filtering (lots of false positives)
ClickFlow: same issue. Flags pages that just drop every winter
What I'm building: A focused tool called DecayRadar that:
Connects to Google Search Console
Detects pages losing traffic (30d vs prior 30d)
Compares year-over-year to filter seasonality
Scores by clicks and revenue lost (so you fix what matters first)
Sends a weekly email: "Here are your 5 most urgent pages"
My question to you: If you run content sites or manage SEO for clients:
How do you detect content decay today?
Is this a real pain point, or do you just live with it?
Would you try a tool like this?
I have a waitlist up if you want to follow along. But honestly I'm here for honest feedback more than signups.
Happy to share everything I learn building this in public.
