I met my co-founder on Reddit (r/SideProjects), and we launched Confetti today.
One of the recurring themes in the Indie Hackers community is the theme of looking for co-founders (especially technical co-founders).
My co-founder Danny and I originally met on r/SideProjects. He had posted an article featuring a mockup of a product he had designed. I decided to spend a bit of time building a quick MVP based on his design and sent it to him. We've been working on this product together ever since, and launched today.

In short, I think it's worthwhile to just put stuff out there and attract collaborators by showing off work that you've already done. I'm skeptical that a post that just says you're looking for a developer will be effective. I'd encourage everyone to stop being so scared of making small commitments, because those tiny steps help build up a potential working partnership.

Registered for your product today. I love the idea and your UI. Amongst thousands of similar habit tracker products I would choose the most beautiful one. One disappointment, though, is that you don’t have a native mobile app. Your product should be mobile first. If you had an iOs app and I liked your product in practice, I would even purchase the subscription. BTW I think you have got the pricing right. Only problem I see is lack of mobile functionality and mobile app.
Thank you for your feedback! We definitely plan to get a mobile app up as soon as possible, but wanted to validate the app first to see if there was even interest for something like this.

Did you guys meet up in person before you started working together? How did you guys build trust between one-another?

We've never met in person. I'm based in Tokyo, and Danny is based in Denver. I think a lot of trust is about making small commitments in the process of building things together, almost just like dating to be honest. It also helps to have explicit conversations about expectations about transparency, accounts, money, etc.

We decided to not go for a freemium model to avoid the customer support – it's only the two of us, and we both work full time. So the product is trial for 7 days, and then paid after that.
