I missed a huge feature—until a fellow Indie Hacker pointed it out.

One of the best parts of building in public is that you don’t just launch products—you get perspective.

Yesterday, I posted about finally shipping the export feature in my app, PitchGrid, which lets parents and coaches generate clean video grids to track a young athlete’s performance over time.

I thought that was the big milestone. ✅

But then, in the comments, @mosnyik casually dropped a gem:

“The ability for a parent to export their kids' baseball video and share it on their Instagram reel or WhatsApp status, or any social platform, sounds like a great value to me. I would encourage you to work on social sharing features.”

And honestly… I hadn’t even considered that. 🤦‍♂️

It was such an obvious use case once someone said it out loud.

So I got to work.

📱 I just shipped direct social sharing for exported videos—Instagram, WhatsApp, Messenger, all native share targets.

Now that it’s live, I’m honestly shocked it wasn’t already part of the MVP. It instantly makes the export feature feel complete.

Just wanted to share this little story as a reminder that:

  • Your community often sees what you’re too deep in the weeds to notice

  • Listening > guessing

  • Good ideas don’t have to come from you

So huge thanks again to @mosnyik—seriously leveled up the app with that one.

@proliferaite, I am more than honoured to be the first to mention the obvious and by so doing inspire a shaping of your product and add value.

It is a great honour to be honest.
