I've had a micro-wordpress plugin available for coming on 6 years now. It's been a fantastic little earner. But I noticed sales starting to drop so I decided to treat it a bit more professionally and move it from my own personal webpage as a 'tool' available for purchase, to its own dedicated website and domain.
Since doing the redesign and migrating - sales have completely dropped. Now I only really get customers renewing.
I've put a redirect on the old webpage so customers get forwarded. I've set up hotjar recording to watch people using the site. But with such small traffic it's hard to gain any meaningful insights.
My only guess is that before when it was on my personal page, people would have had more of a 'trust' factor - and it was terribly designed which can sometimes ironically make people think it's cheaper & better value, but I'm not sure what I can change.
My new domain is adminpagespider.com but if this type of thing isn't allowed then I can look elsewhere - but just looking for any critique or feedback or things I can look into to explain why my new sales have dropped so sharply.
Thanks all!
Is it possible that most of the sales came directly from the website and not from upgrading the free version?
I ran a little test and it seems like all the upgrade links are working so maybe it's an SEO thing?
I would also triple-check the checkout flow and verify everything on the payment provider side.
