I need ideas on what to sell online, preferably quickly.
A friend and I just made a bet on who can make money faster online by selling something. Anything really.
We've both been thinking of side hustles for a long time and thought this might be a good way to kick-start doing them.
So any ideas? I can code (frontend and backend) and I've got some b2b sales skills (I run a small agency), but I've never actually made money online, other than from sports betting.
Right now I'm looking at maybe building a theme or an app of some kind for a platform like Shopify or Wordpress. But I'm also open for other ideas.

Not fast at all. First of all, it's pretty hard to be approved. Secondly, the competition is really crazy now, unless you are ready to code for food what is not the case I think.

Very easy to find work if you know what you’re doing. Yes won’t pay much at first but he is doing it for competition... I didn’t imply you can make a living on it right away.

It takes time for any service / product to generate real sales (unless you have a ready audience to launch)
I made this mistake. I have a ready product which got 2 sales as of now, but I failed to realize that SEO can take time and I don't have PPC budget for ads.
So if you have budget for PPC or an audience to launch to, then you expect a lot of sales on day 1.
Next thing is obviously, you can use your skills to build something for a client. Instant sale. Quick money.
Thanks. I want to emphasise that I'm not really after a get-rich-quick scheme. We just made a friendly bet with a friend, and I've recently been inspired by Rob Wallings strair step approach to bootstrapping 1.
My immediate goal is to just get experience on selling something (anything really) online. I'm not necessarily looking to build an actual business around it.

Sell a service that goes through 10 resumes for people trying to hire and picks 3 people to interview. I made $100 on newsletter reviews this week. You can do the same since it matches well with your Phiabo list. And builds you up as an expert in how to hire, or at least find people. Show off your database in every review.
I like this idea. Will think about how to do implement it.
Put your expertise into a simple ebook and sell it on Gumroad. Skillshare course has also worked for me.

Your idea about Shopify apps wasn't bad, I see plenty of people having successful apps on that platform.
