I need some honest feedback

Hey guys,

I can't seem to figure out marketing & product market fit.

We've been struggling to grow a user base and I don't know if the product is the problem, or if its simply an issue of getting the word out. I'm not even sure what users experience the product as (if positive or negative).

I'd love some real honest feedback on the product.. So I'd ask for anyone wiling to help to just download it, and let me know what's wrong with it from your perspective?

I want to know:

  • Do you like the product?
  • Would you check it regularly (daily), if not, why not?
  • Does it interest you, or not? What would make it more interesting for you?

Ofcourse, I'd appreciate any bugs you come across too.... :]

Download it here: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/sellou/id1548126433
Or search "sellou" on the App Store
send feedback to: contact@sellou.com

Thank you if you take the time to help <3

I see your app which have something wrong. Some layout are not user friendly. I also work on app. Feel free to give feedback: https://www.6clicks.com/use-cases/iso-27001

I agree with Edward, I'm confused as to what your app is / does exactly. Remember that your audience has a VERY short attention span - so you need to tell them how this solves a key problem they have as soon as they land on it.

    • who is your audience?
    • why should they download Sellou over any other marketplace?

You should be able to answer both of these in one sentence or less. If you can't, take a quick step back and get clear on it.

If you'd like some help feel free to drop me an email :)

Thank you so much for the feedback! I really appreciate it.
I never realized that the language/purpose was unclear, I'll definitely take some time to rewrite it - and thanks for offering the help :D

Just looking at the app store page, I didn't see anything obviously wrong, but I didn't see anything right either.

What I mean by that is that I didn't see any compelling reason to download this app vs. the myriad of other seller's markets out there.

Oh, wait, expanding the description - there's a bunch of stuff in the text description about photo sharing:

"We bring you the ultimate experience in photo sharing and privacy. Join an exclusive community of photographers across the world.

    PRIVACY FOCUSED PHOTO SHARING

Sellou takes privacy very seriously, and your data is not used in the same way as it is on other social networks. Minimal data is collected to respect your privacy and make the app as efficient as possible for our users.

    FEATURES:

Share full screen photos with unique filters ad follow others who's photos you like.

The feed is organized chronologically and users are able to post links in the descriptions. There's no comment section so the focus is on photography."

Makes me think the listing has been hijacked or something. Did you copy another listing, or is this left over from a pivot?

Anyway, Amazon didn't become what it is by starting by selling everything. Have you considered niching down to a specific few markets, and making your app THE place to go to buy/sell those things?

Sounds hard, but a lot easier than trying to be just another place to buy/sell anything.

Your screenshot text refers to "your work" and "made by wholehearted people", but the images on the things being sold (in the first two) appear to be a camera lens, airpods, a mouse, and headphones.

    Your messaging seems very confused.

The latest My First Million has a segment about “unbundling Etsy” which slots right into my advice above:

        Thanks for this feedback!
Haha the description box - you're right on, we started as just a selling app but 'pivoted' to allow users to post any photo.... so yeah xD

I guess we have to decide - do we want to be a marketplace or a photo sharing app, right now we have both built in...

These are points I would have never noticed myself because I'm too deep into the development lol, so thank you again <3
