I need to make money. I have skills, i can do web design/dev i can do graphics but i cant seem to find a way to earn....HELP Please!

You can:

• Apply for a dev job at a company.
• Do freelance work with Fiverr, Upwork, etc...
• Build something on your own like a Saas business.
• Teach others your skills for a fee. (f.e. a friend of mine gives extra dev education to students who don't understand everything in school.)

There so much you can do, but as with anything, you have to put in the time and effort.

Do you want to find a job in general or do you want to start a business?

In case you want to start a business you might be in the same situation I was a couple of weeks ago. I have the skills to build but I didn't know what!
I came to the conclusion that the initial analysis (if it is worth to build an idea) is just another learning process.

The best is to start to find the term/keyword/industry your idea falls into. Then, next is to filter down to the particular action. Then, find & compare the products already available - if you can build something that stands out compared to the rest: congratulations, you have a winner.

I can provide an example:
I had idea that was part of employee engagement. Employee engagement can be put into effect using surveys or employee recognition. My idea was about employee recognition. So I did analyze 10 products in that segment. Unfortunately, I can't find an attribute that could be done better. So, next one please...

What did you already build, what did you design so far?

I was in your position back in 2016. I rage-quit a very low paying job and ended a month away from not being able to pay rent, and disillusioned by freelance sites such as Upwork. I needed work fast.

I put up a website advertising myself as "available for freelance, contract or permanent employment". This was a mistake; the best feedback I received is to choose which you want and gun for it. Focus your website on only one.

So, I adjusted my website, portfolio and CV/Resume for the goal of permanent employment in my targeted niche (Drupal developer).

I then researched local businesses that specialize in my niche and cold-emailed them, basically advertising my availability. I was able to get one job offer very quickly.

The second job offer also came very quickly, which I landed by taking out Google Ads to advertise my availability as a full time developer (again, targeting keywords in my niche). My then-to-become boss loved the initiative I took of literally creating my own brand and taking out adverts. If you have never used Google Ads, you probably want to do so with caution as the costs can easily get out of hand - keep a low daily budget, and monitor. Use 'exact match' keywords.

During this process, I also received a few leads for contract/freelance work, which I actually passed up for full-time employment. I handed them over to my old boss, who successfully took on one of the clients.

tl;td Pick and niche. Pick your desired work-type. Gun for it like it's your full-time job and market yourself.
