I open-sourced my startup: Evaluatly

Hello fellow indie hackers,

My startup, Evaluatly, is now open source and free. Check the website on evaluatly.com or on GitHub.

Evaluatly is a tool to create dynamic multipage forms, something like Typeform or a presentation tool.

If you think it would be useful for your startup, feel free to use it for free!

I considered it as a low-code tool, instead of a no-code, because you still need to create a JSON file to create the story, but I think it is simple enough for anyone to use. There is documentation available.

The reason I have chosen to make it free and open-source is it is too soon to think about monetization. I am also not working on Evaluatly full-time (I'm a freelancer, hire me ;), so I think it is unfair to charge without full commitment.

I hope you enjoy and any feedback is much appreciated!

I'm curious about your experience with open sourcing your project, one year later.
Do you think it was a good decision?
What positive impact did it make?
What negative impact did you experience?

I'm thinking about using an open source core model for my current project (maybe with a dual license), accompanied by an hosted solution (i.e., classic SaaS)

Just did a deep dive into this.

This is so nice and beautifully architected at its core. 👏👏👏

Will try to use this shortly. Products like this need more love from IH community.

Sounds something like StaticKit, which was acquired recently.

Actually, StaticKit would fit nicely to handle the backend. Evaluatly is only the frontend.

I hope this too!! Thanks, Håkan.

BTW, just a heads-up, I was checking out Kindmetrics, but the "Try Now" is not working. The website looks great.
