I opened Pulseboard early access two months ago and then disappeared.
No updates. No build-in-public posts. No responses to the people who actually took the time to comment on my stuff. (I finally replied to all of you this week. Sorry about the wait.)
Here's what happened.
Within the first week of early access I found problems. Not small things. The kind of problems where the tool tells an agency owner to do something, and the recommendation is wrong because the data feeding it had a gap I didn't catch during testing.
That's the whole product. Pulseboard doesn't show you charts. It tells you what to fix and why. If the "what to fix" part is wrong, you don't have a product. You have a liability.
I had two options. Ship it anyway and fix things live while real users are getting bad recommendations. Or pull it back, go quiet, and rebuild until it's right.
I pulled it back.
I know the internet says ship fast, get feedback, iterate. I've read the same posts you have. But I run a marketing agency. I've seen what happens when a client acts on bad data. They spend money in the wrong place, the month is wasted, and the trust is gone. I wasn't going to let the tool I built do the same thing I've spent years protecting clients from.
So for two months I went under the hood. Rebuilt the recommendation engine. Stress-tested it against my own agency's client data where I already knew what the right answer was. If Pulseboard told me to do something different from what I'd actually done for a client who got results, that was a bug, not a feature.
It's done now. Every recommendation traces back to a real data point, and every data point has been validated against channels I've managed myself.
