    Technically its 50k in revenue for you and 200k total for AppSumo right?

      Technically it's nothing because the 4,000 users number came out of thin air and this was all just a plan to write a clickbait twitter thread.

        I get that, I got warned by the mods here for a certain type of comment on clickbait threads so I was trying to do a more subtle callout.

    Very solid reasoning. I don't think anything is wrong with applying and then figuring out that it's not worth it. That's the entrepreneurial way (at least for me), and correcting things that sounded better on paper is absolutely fine.

    I like how it's really a long-term financial decision. Ignore short-term gains to avoid long-term losses. Top-notch decisionmaking.

    My experience with appsumo is quite opposite. They are getting in front of an audience that I cant get to, and at a price point they cant get anywhere else.

    Meaning they are customers who would not buy at your normal price.

    Sumolings who love you will defend you and promote you.

    Interesting read, sounds like you've really thought it through. I guess I'm a little in the dark since I don't know what AppSumo is, but I presume it's like an app review newsletter that also looks for revenue sharing for being part of their newsletter?

    I can't wrap my head around how something like that ever became popular with people, it seems vampiric to both apps as well as users.

    AppSumo takes a 75% commission?? That seems unreasonably high!

    What're the differences between your product and other similar products like Hyperping or Pinger? You all charge similarly, and provide similar value.

    yeah big jump in users too fast too early can cause more issues than it's worth

      They actually reach out to companies in many cases. Post PH launch ect. There is golden timing for LTV plans to work. 6 month to 12 month range - where a company has a product but does not have an email list or enough revenue yet.

      The moment a company does 20k MRR, LTV makes no sense. 240K this month for a lot of trouble, or just wait 12 months and have 240k plus whatever you grew in that time with an organic, no headache type of user growth.
