I've reached out to a very few, select podcasters whose contact info I got from their RSS feed. I'd highly recommend not mass-spamming people, but RSS feeds usually contain the podcaster's contact email (not always the case with Anchor.fm-hosted podcasts or Soundcloud-hosted podcasts) if you want to reach out to some in a personalized, 1:1 way.
Ideally my goal was to find some podcasters from here :) but will most likely need to reach out to get enough feedback.

Yes I needed beta testers for HelloCast.

I want to get in contact with hosts of podcasts and ideally get prepayment for the idea to prove they would use it.
Sure, sounds like a great way to go. Is there something you're struggling with?
How did you go about contacting them? Did you get warm intros? Did you just cold email?
A mix of both.
It isn't hard to find podcasters or their email addresses - they want to be found!
Twitter DMs also worked well for me. Keep it casual, lead with the value.
