I quit my high-paying job as a software director

Hi, maybe my comment will be downvoted, but I want to say, that it's not the best decision in my opinion.
It's too late to give advice, but I would not recommend anyone to quit their job if you don't have some project/etc that makes money on a side(especially if you have a family to support).
Why? because you have a wife and kids to support. I have kids and I know what I am talking about.
Family, it's like a money-burning machine. And especially if your wife is a stay at home mom. If you are young - that's another story, you can do whatever you want.
Why not start contacting on a side? ( i started like that, side contracts, and now I am freelancing for more than 5 years). Way secure.

Your situation is differt, maybe leap of faith is worth it, but it's too risky.

I left my job as a software dev at the start of the month. Glad to hear you have a consulting gig already going. Yeah I wouldn't recommend to anyone if they don't already have a secondary source of income. I subscribed to the newsletter. So you do multi cloud consulting? Why multi cloud?

I have a "technical" question. I'm also using ghost for my blog and I see you have that nice Subscribe button in the bottom left corner. Do you mind sharing how you added that?

It takes a huge courage to commit to this decision especially when you have kids and in the current pandemic situation.

Two questions:

1. Did you set to yourself some deadlines to measure your progress?
2. When you were doing a highly paid job, did you try outsourcing your ideas for developers to build for you? If yes, can you share your experience? if no, mind sharing why?
