I rebuilt BorderPrep so travelers can prepare for any trip in minutes, not hours

Most people scramble between embassy sites, visa forms, and random travel blogs before a trip. I wanted to fix that.

So I rebuilt BorderPrep, a travel prep site where anyone can check entry rules, visas, and essentials for any country, all in one page.

It turns “I don’t know what I need before flying” into “I’m fully ready to go” in just a few clicks.

Used by thousands of travelers every month, still free.

If you’ve built a travel-related product before, I’d love your thoughts on how to grow it next.

This sounds like a really useful resource for travelers! It can be quite overwhelming to find all the necessary information before a trip, so having everything in one place is a great idea. I’d be interested to see how you plan to grow it further, especially in terms of user engagement.

This is super useful, Tom. Travel prep is messy for most people, so simplifying it into one page is a big win.
How are you currently driving traffic? I’m curious what’s worked so far and where you’re looking to take BorderPrep next.

Hey Tom, I really liked your product. Something I will be definitely be using in the future.

There's just a minor issue I noticed. The app makes it feel like the content was updated when switching destination, but it is still showing the info for the previous one. I had to click on generate to get the info for the new destination.

    Keep up the nice work!!

Love the idea! Travel friction points like this are perfect for a niche tool. Have you considered the monetization model yet? Could this be a one-time purchase, a low-cost subscription, or are you looking to integrate it with other travel services (e.g., flight trackers, visa services) for an affiliate model down the line? Excited to see where you take this!

Right now I’m keeping it simple and open. I’m getting products featured on the site, and it’s been a nice early win for both sides.

If you want your product shown in front of thousands of travelers who land on BorderPrep every day, you’re more than welcome to jump in. Happy to chat anytime.
