I rebuilt Business Hunter based on community feedback in 48 hours

Last week someone on IH actually tried my demo.

Not just a "looks cool" comment. They sent me a 300-word breakdown. What worked, what was broken, three specific things that would make it worth paying for.

I built all three. Then kept going.

For context: Business Hunter is a tool where you type a niche and Pain Radar scans Reddit, HN, GitHub Issues, Stack Overflow, Quora and more in parallel between 80 and 180 signals per scan and Claude Sonnet turns them into a full opportunity report with a demand score, real evidence with source links, competition map, and a scoped MVP. There's also a weekly newsletter. It's early, I'm building it in public.

The feedback had three core problems. The report cited Reddit and HN but you couldn't see the actual posts. map, and a scoped MVP. There's also a weekly newsletter. It's early, I'm building it in public.

The feedback had three core problems. The report cited Reddit and HN but you couldn't see the actual posts. You could see a signal existed but had no way to act on it. And when you closed the tab, the opportunity was gone.

What I took from this: when someone takes the time to tell you exactly what's broken, that's worth more than any survey or metric. I could have filed it under future roadmap. Instead I used it as the product spec.

Every signal now shows its source with a direct link to the original post and a freshness indicator, color coded green means this week, red means over a month old. You can filter by source or by age. There's also a draft reply button on each signal that writes a 2 to 4 sentence response tuned to the platform tone, casual for Reddit, technical for HN, founder to founder for IH. Not to spam anyone to start real conversations with people who actually have the pain. And there's a pipeline tracker on every saved opportunity so you can move it from Researching to Validating to Building without losing it when you close the tab.

While I was in the zone I also added advanced keyword filters, CSV export for Pro users, a first visit onboarding modal with example niches, a daily free signal pulled from HN that doesn't count against your scan limit, and raised the free tier from 1 to 3 scans per month.

Honest state of things: 10+ reports generated, 10+ live sources, 0 invented stats. Every report ends with a confidence note that says exactly how strong the evidence actually is.

One question for anyone reading: if you've tried to validate a business idea in the last year, what was the part that made you feel most like you were just guessing?
