I redesigned Flutterwave's homepage as a conversion exercise — here's what I found and what I changed.

Flutterwave processes $26B+ annually across 33 countries. One of Africa's most powerful fintech products.
But the homepage wasn't selling it.
I audited it through a conversion design lens and found 5 critical problems:

  1. Vague hero headline
"Endless possibilities for all" answers nothing. What does it do? Who is it for? Why should I care? A headline that says everything tells the visitor nothing — and the visitor leaves before reading anything else.
  2. Hero image doesn't relate to the product
Lifestyle photos of store owners with no visible connection to a payment product. When the image and headline don't reinforce each other, visitors lose trust in the first 5 seconds — the most critical window on any homepage.
  3. Feature driven copy
"Access payments." "Transfers." These describe what the product has — not what a business gains. Every feature failed the So What test. Visitors read the features and feel nothing — no desire, no urgency, no reason to act.
  4. No social proof
900,000+ businesses trust Flutterwave with their money. Zero testimonials on the homepage. In a market where visitors have been burned by fraudulent platforms, missing social proof is the difference between a visitor who converts and one who leaves to find something safer.
  5. No audience segmentation
Four distinct audiences — enterprise, small business, individual, developer — all landing on one undifferentiated page. When a page speaks to everyone it converts no one. An unguided visitor is a lost visitor.
Tomorrow I'll share what I changed and why. Full before and after incoming.
