I removed Google Analytics from my SaaS and you should do it too

I want security and privacy to be a cornerstone of Monse from the start. This is crucial because our application is for banking.

We don't share or sell user data and information with third-parties. We never ask for or store bank credentials, either.

But I made a mistake. I used Google Analytics. As you know, Google Analytics it's not privacy-friendly. They track the user and, in Europe, it's illegal right now.

I was unaware of this, but when I shared the stack that I'm using in Monse a lot of users warn me about that, and they are right.

I switched from Google Analytics to Goat Counter today, and I couldn't be happier.

Goat Counter it's super simple, but It's just what I need. A totally free and privacy-friendly analytics alternative.

While I appreciate you not using Google Analytics, can you also please do a more intense review re other privacy & potential legal issues on your site?

    In your T&C's you state:

We employ the use of cookies. By accessing monse.app, you agreed to use cookies in agreement with the monse's Privacy Policy.

That is not compliant with GDPR and not having a decent cookie management is a big red flag for many people.

Hey! Do you know if the same privacy problem is true with the new GA4?

I just made a tweet about 2 hours ago about wanting to replace GA for https://krumzi.com.

I'll definitely try Goat Counter. Feels like the universes have aligned.
