Hey Indie Hackers,
I’m Julien, founder of Linkeme.ai — a tool we originally built internally to help with our own content generation. We were a small consulting company with limited time and no dedicated marketing team. Social media always felt like a chore. So we turned to AI.
And eventually, it worked.
Today, 90% of our social media workflow is automated: post ideas, text generation, visual creation, scheduling, even A/B testing headlines.
But let me be honest: it's not magic. Here’s what worked, what flopped, and what we learned along the way.
We trained our prompts on our brand tone and values. With GPT-4 + Claude, the results felt almost "on-brand" from day one. After some iteration, we rarely touch the output.
We built a visual layer that autogenerates images with headlines, logos, and brand overlays. It made our posts feelpremium — without hiring a designer.
We integrated with LinkedIn, Instagram, and X. The post is generated, reviewed, and sent automatically at optimal times.
Early on, we used prompts like "give me 5 posts for founders." The results were too generic. Only when we grounded everything in our actual blog or product roadmap did the content become meaningful.
Visuals helped, but posts with a story or hook always outperformed even our best visuals. So we focused on pairing story + visual, not just image spam.
AI gave us scale, not vision. We still needed someone to guide tone, curate posts, monitor results, and decide the messaging priorities.
Time saved: ~8 hours/week per person
Content consistency: we now post 5x/week minimum
Engagement: grew LinkedIn from 200 to 3,000+ in 4 months
And the coolest part? Our clients started asking for the same tool. That’s when Linkeme became a product.
We’re still learning. We’re testing new visual layers powered by GPT-4o, and launching our next Product Hunt campaign soon.
If you’ve tried AI content before — what’s worked (or not) for you?
Happy to answer any questions about prompt design, infra, or productization too!
This is awesome, thanks for sharing.
I have recently pushed out some of my own work so I have been trying to learn social media as a leverage, and I agree with the points you have made.
Thanks for the kind words — and congrats on putting your work out there. Social media can feel like a whole new skillset, but with the right leverage, it really compounds. Happy to connect if you ever want to exchange ideas or compare notes.
thanks for sharing !
Nicely done, we have build soemthing interesting soon it will be live, I would like you to check it out.
Thanks , share a link !
The points you made are indeed very valid
thanks
Great post! Curious, how did you sort through the thousands of AI-driven content creation sites out there? Where did you find the most value? Thanks!

Hi Julien,
I’m Peace Chinedu, a Community Manager passionate about building authentic connections to elevate brands. I’ve worked closely with brands and seen how AI streamlines processes, much like your impressive automation of 90% of your social media workflow. But AI isn’t the ultimate solution—humans bring irreplaceable value.Real humans excel at:
Authentic Engagement: Responding with empathy to comments, turning followers into fans.
Relatable Storytelling: Crafting narratives that reflect your brand’s heart, unlike AI’s formulaic output.
Community Building: Fostering loyal spaces where users advocate for you.I’d love to blend your automation with human-led strategies to amplify your impact. DM me (+2349061528074)to chat!
Best,Peace
Thanks for your message and thoughtful perspective — I absolutely agree that humans bring unique strengths, especially in empathy, storytelling, and nuanced engagement.
That said, the core idea behind Linkeme is to remove human time from the equation wherever possible — not out of disregard, but because most small businesses simply don’t have the resources to hire community managers or invest in daily manual engagement. Our goal is to give them something that works — consistently, affordably, and with zero effort — rather than nothing at all.
Automation isn’t meant to replace meaningful human connection; it’s a survival strategy for those who can’t afford the luxury of time.
Wishing you all the best with your work — you’re clearly bringing great energy and heart to the fi
Hey Julien — this was a goldmine of insights. Congrats on building Linkeme into a full product!
As a data analyst with experience in content performance and automation, I really resonated with the "AI gave us scale, not vision" line — I’ve seen similar challenges in past roles.
In one recent project, I helped a startup automate 70% of their weekly reporting tasks and built a dashboard that identified their top-performing posts by engagement rate, audience segment, and format — which led to a 2x increase in qualified inbound leads over 6 weeks.
If you're digging into post-level data or want to experiment more with A/B testing outcomes, messaging insights, or user cohort analysis, I'd love to share ideas or even help out.
Also excited to try Linkeme — it sounds like the kind of tool I wish existed when I first started helping teams scale content!
Thanks for the message and for taking the time to share your experience.
You’re spot on: scale is one thing, but knowing what to prioritize remains the real challenge. We’re gradually improving how Linkeme interprets post-level data and engagement patterns, so your feedback is definitely relevant.
Not looking to expand too quickly on that front, but happy to stay in touch , always good to hear from people who’ve been hands-on with similar problems. Appreciate the kind words.
Thanks for reaching out.
I sent across a connection request to your LinkedIn earlier.
Hopefully we can stay connected.
Hey Julien, Where did you find templates that you used to generate new images? I know there are several sites that sell "handpicked ad templates", just curious if you used those or if you found them elsewhere:)
Hey! Good question — I actually use Abyssale for all the visual generation. I can create my own templates there, tweak them exactly to fit Linkeme’s visual identity (fonts, colors, layout), and then generate variations automatically from prompts or structured data. It also supports animations, which is great for dynamic content. So I’m not using any premade “ad templates” from marketplaces — everything is customized, dynamic, adapted to each content and I have full control. Happy to share more.
